Aster - Purple Dome

‘Purple Domes’ looks great in borders and mass plantings. The effect is indescribable. Purple Domes bloom in the early fall till frost, ‘Purple Dome’ is a definite butterfly and bird attractor. The flowers are 1-2” wide with a plant width of 18-24” and a height of 18”. Aster ‘Purple Dome’ does require full sun, but can take some afternoon shade, in a moderate soil range with good drainage that does not become extremely dry during the summer. It is a definite showstopper. The Aster ‘Purple Dome’, Aster novae-angliae, has beautiful vivid purple daisy-like flowers that cover the plant. The large blooms of Alcea ‘Peaches ‘n Dreams’ Hollyhock flower in the summer months. Alcea is a wonderful plant near the back of the border, working great along walls or fences.
