The Astilbe ‘Hennie Graafland’, Astilbe simplicifolia 'Hennie Graafland', is a colorful feathery flower with light pink blooms and shiny bronze-green foliage. If the soil drys out the plant will falter quickly, especially in the sun. The soil must remain moist. Hennie Graafland is part of the simplicifolia group which are known for their fine textured foilage. Astilbes are grown most successfully in rich soil and under partial sun. . . Fertilize Astilbes in late spring before the flowers emerge. The biggest key to successful growth of your Astilbes is water. Astilbes can be used as cut flowers, perennial borders or shade gardens with Hosta’s and Ferns. they require a lot of water. Astilbe ‘Hennie Graafland’ blooms in mid summer. .
