Black-Eyed Susan Vine

The Black Eyed Susan vine is easy to grow and produces flowers that are 1 to 2 inches wide. Black Eyed Susan Vines prefer full sun but will tolerate some shade. The Black Eyed Susan Vine, 'Thunbergia alata', is a vigorous vine with spunky yellow, orange, and white flowers. This vine blooms reliably from early summer through late summer. The Black Eyed Susan vine can be grown as a quick screen and as a colorful groundcover. They like rich, moist, well drained soils. They are excellent in window boxes and hanging baskets. The solid black eye of the flowers contrast vividly with petal colors. Plant them near a trellis or fence, as Black Eyed Susans climb by twining.
