Chamomile - German
Chamomile is primarily used as a tea made from the dried flowers. The Chamomile German, 'Matricaria recutita', has a wonderful apple fragrance for your garden, pot pourris, and dried flower arrangements. It is used in baths and as hair rinses. Plant in early spring as soon as the ground can be worked. This is one of the herbs the world loves the best. The feathery foliage produces late spring and mid summer blossoms. German Chamomile has 3/4 inch white flowers with an apple scented, yellow center. The German Chamomile is a wonderfully scented herb that is a nice addition to your flower or herb garden. The foliage is used for scenting houses and in pot pourris, dried flower arrangements and wreaths. The soil should be well drained. Bachelor Button - Dwarf Mix Plant in the spring, 1 to 2 weeks before the last frost. Bachelor Button blooms 10 to 12 weeks after seeding. Bachelor Button prefers full sun but they will withstand some light shade. The flowers can be used as dried or cut flowers. In warm climates, plant in late summer or early fall for winter bloom.
