The Coleus Aurora Black Cherry, 'Coleus hybrid', has burgundy red foliage with bright lime edges. The brilliant colors explode in sunny locations. This plant can also be a perennial in warmer zones. These new, bigger, sun loving varieties have revolutionized container gardening. Frost will cause them to die immediately. If a coleus plant is allowed to seed, it has completed its life cycle and will die. Coleus must have good soil drainage. Flower buds should be pinched off as soon as they develop. Tomato - Red Grape The Tomato Red Grape, 'Lycopersicon lycopersicum' produces long clusters of 20 or more bright red baby grape tomatoes. Tomatoes prefer well drained soil that is high in organic matter. Tomatoes need at least 1 inch of water a week. They need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. They are very sweet which has made them a favorite of people everywhere. In warm winter/hot summer areas, tomatoes can be planted in early fall for winter harvest. The Red Grape is crack resistant, heat tolerant and has excellent disease resistance against late blight and leaf spot virus. Soak to depth of 6 to 10 inches when watering. Tomatoes should be planted outside after the last average frost date. This is an indeterminate tomato variety. |
