Columbine - Denver Gold
The Columbine 'Denver Gold', Aquilegia chrysantha, has large, very showy, yellow flowers that can measure over 3" across. Enjoy this popular flower in your garden or as a cut flower. Columbine is a profuse self-seeder so it should be planted 12-18” apart. ‘Denver Gold’ blooms in late spring, and if deadheaded, will be a heavy reblommer. Yarrow - Coronation Gold The Yarrow, ‘Coronation Gold’ , Achillea ageratifolia, is an upright golden-yellow flowered Yarrow that blooms from June through September, providing excellent color throughout the summer months. ‘Coronation Gold’ has good texture and form and looks great in mass plantings and cottage gardens. Remove faded flowers to encourage more growth and divide every 3-4 years. The flower heads are 3-4” wide, with a spread of 18-24” and a height of 42”. The foliage has a somewhat strong, spicy aroma, which persists when used in dried arrangements. For an attraction to butterflies, deer and rabbit resistant, one can’t go wrong with this plant. ) Yarrow should be planted in full sun and is tolerant to hot humid summers.
