Grandmothers Cutflower Grd

This mix covers approximately 100 square feet. In mild climates, sow seed during cooler months, generally October through March. This cut flower mix has 23 different flowers to enliven any bouquet. Even if your grandmother didn't have a green thumb, this mix will evoke images of a simpler, less hurried time in which she lived. In cool climates plant in the spring, 1 to 2 weeks before the last average frost date. Twenty-three varieties of annuals, biennials and perennials will provide flowers for cutting from spring through first frost. They have a wonderful range of colors, shapes and textures to enliven a whole season's worth of bouquets. An old-fashioned cutting garden was often no more than a corner of the garden where a few flower seeds were tossed. Tomato - Grape Juliet Pole Tomatoes prefer well drained soil that is high in organic matter. They need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. Soak to depth of 6 to 10 inches when watering. In addition to the wonderfully sweet flavor, they are very crack resistant. Tomatoes need at least 1 inch of water a week. Juliet is an intermediate tomato which means they continue to grow indefinitely until frost. 6 to 9 tomatoes are produced on each of many grape-like clusters. The Juliet is an early tomato that will produce in almost any climate. The Tomato Grape Juliet, 'Lycopersicon lycopersicum (Hybrid)', is an All American Selection that has sweet, wonderful flavor and produces tons of red, glossy 1 oz fruits on grape-like clusters. Prune the intermediate tomatoes in order to keep a single stem. The very shiny fruit is attractive for salads and tasty just popped in one's mouth.
