Grass - Elijah Blue Fescue
With its bluish gray foliage, the plumes appear overwhelming from June to July. The Ornamental Grass 'Elijah' Blue', 'Festuca glauca', also know as Blue Fescue, is a wonderful ornamental grass that should not be passed by. Combined with blue and purple flowers, such as Salvia and Veronica, it adds color and contrast to any perennial garden. This grass prefers full sun, but will tolerate morning shade. 'Elijah Blue' has a plant height of 12" and spread of 12-24". Keep well watered in hot summer months, especially when becoming established. Sunflower - First Light The Sunflower First Light, 'Helianthus salicifolius ‘First Light’, a Blooms of Bressingham plant, displays a solid mass of 2” daisy light yellow flowers. Try Helianthus as cut flowers, in the back of beds or borders, with Ornamental Grasses or Asters. Helianthus should be planted in full sun with average to well-drained soils. ‘First Light’ will give a stunning explosion of color to any perennial garden. The fuzzy, linear green leaves make a wonderful contrast with the flowers. It will grow best with moisture, but can tolerate drought. ‘First Light’ has a plant height of 4’ and a spread of 28”. |
