Honeysuckle - Arnold Red

Darkest red blossoms of the Honeysuckle are fragrant and produce bright red berries in June-July. It prefers full sun, is fast growing and gets 8 to 10 feet tall and wide. The flashy and fragrant flowers will attract hummingbirds and butterflies all summer long. This deciduous plant has a neat, compact habit that is excellent for backgrounds, screens, windbreaks. It is a low maintenance Xeriscape plant that is able to withstand drought and temperature extremes. This plant has a high tolerance for salt and alkali and has moderate water requirements. Arnold Red Honeysuckle, Lonicera x xylosteoides 'Miniglobe', is an excellent plant that provides a profuse flower display and a brilliant show of fruit each year. Many honeysuckles will thrive in containers as well. Honeysuckles are easy to grow, vigorous, heat-tolerant, and nearly indestructible. Privet - Chinese South The Chinese South Privet, Ligustrum sinense, is an abundant semi-evergreen small tree or large shrub, most commonly found invading the understory of moist areas. The foilage is sometimes so thick that nothing can grow underneath the shrub. Copious amounts of fruits are produced. Its oval leaves are dark green. It usually reaches a height of 15 feet and has pretty white flowers in the late spring. The berries turn black when ripe and are gobbled up by birds, which spread the seeds far and wide.
