Juniper - Buffalo
Junipers are important evergreens for landscape use due to their tolerance of unfavorable soil conditions, their hardiness and great variation in size, habit, color and growth rate. It has a height of 12-15 inches and a spread of 5 feet. These plants may also be utilized for background plantings in shrub beds or flower gardens, as specimen plants, in rock gardens or for topiary or espalier purposes. This Juniper prefers sun and a well-drained soil, but tolerates a range of soil types; drought and heat tolerant. Junipers are used as ground covers, in foundation plantings, or as hedges, screens or windbreaks. May prune to shape desired. Buffalo Juniper's feathery branches are of bright green foliage; retains color in winter. Buffalo Juniper, Juniperus sabina 'Buffalo', has soft, feathery, bright green foliage on low spreading branches that produces an interesting form, and it is an excellent groundcover plant for borders or mass plantings. ... more
Willow - Japanese The outer leaves turn a bright pink while the inner leaves are green and white. Then you see the pink summer foliage and in the fall and winter the striking red stems. Great as a container plant. The Japanese Willow has 4 season interest. You may prune the plant back for another flush of pink foliage later in the season. Regular pruning will promote a denser and bushier plant. In the spring, before it leafs out, it produces hundreds of slender catkins that contrast brilliantly against the deep red stems.
