Larkspur - Rose

Larkspur are excellent for cut or dried flowers and as backdrop plant in front of a fence or wall. The 1/4 to 1/2 inch rose colored flowers are densely packed on tall stems. The Larkspur Rose, 'Consolida ambigua', has tall spires of rose colored flowers. They like moist, rich, well drained soil that is slightly alkaline. The Larkspur prefer a cool location in full sun. Plant in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked. The Rose Larkspur blooms in mid spring to early summer. Pepper - Bell - Mandarin Mandarin Bell Peppers turns from green to an impressive glossy, deep pumpkin-orange color. If you enjoy the sweet flavor of red and yellow peppers, you may really like the unique sweet flavor of the Mandarin. Even under cooler conditions, Mandarin produces very sweet and tasty peppers. Transplant outside in the spring 3 to 4 weeks after last frost date. Note: To get a jump on the season transplant outside, use a walls-of-water or some black plastic to maintain and increase temperatures. Plant in average garden soil with sufficient organic matter. Peppers use quite a bit of water but prefer to be watered deeply and not too often. Blossom pruning will improve fruit size.
