Lilac - Superba Littleleaf

Superba Littleleaf is a dense, compact, mounded, spreading, deciduous, small-leaved shrub that grows to 6 feet tall and up to 12 feet wide. Superba Littleleaf prefers rich, moist, neutral soils. It is widely used as a foundation plant in the garden and group plantings, also for informal or formal hedges, and as a specimen shrub. It is resistant to the common lilac diseases, especially powdery mildew. It should be pruned as needed immediately after flowering. Superba Littleleaf Lilac, Syringa microphylla 'Superba', is an attractive shrub that is covered with single, deep pink flowers in May-June. It tolerates light shade, but best bloom quality and disease resistance occur in full sun. It is easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun.
