Obedient Plant - Miss Manners
‘Miss Manners’ needs a full sun area but will tolerate some afternoon shade, in well-drained soil. The Physostegia ‘Miss Manners’, Physostegia virginiana, also know as Obedient Plant, has bright white spiked flowers that are 18” tall and a plant spread of 18-24”. Try with darker colors such Hemerocallis ‘Little Business’, Platycodon ‘Balloon Flower’ or Veronica ‘Royal Candles’. Use ‘Miss Manners’ in borders, mixed plantings, massed plantings (especially to separate other colors), in large containers or as cut flowers. ? ‘Miss Manners’ is not as aggressive as most other Physostegia. ‘Miss Manners’ blooms from June to September and the waxy, dark green foliage makes this plant a little different from other white blooming perennials. ... more info
Calla Lily - Crystal Blush Being somewhat deer resistant, it is suitable for container growing, as cut flowers and in perennial gardens. ‘Crystal Blush’ was voted the best Calla in 2004. The Calla Crystal Blush, 'Zantedeschia', has green broadly shaped foliage with white flowers that attain a slight pink blush color. It will bloom for 10-11 weeks and should be planted in full sun in a well-drained area. It has a plant height of 14-22” and a plant spread of 12-16”. |
