Phlox - Atropurpurea

It is a definite addition to any perennial garden. Use ‘Atropurpurea’ in rock gardens, as a spread over curbs and short retaining walls, or in difficult edges of dry streambeds. The Phlox Atropurpurea, 'Phlox subulata', is an ideal ground cover with masses of tiny wine-red flowers and a thick mat of semi-evergreen foliage. ‘Atropurpurea needs to be planted in a full sun area in well-drained soil. Aster - Professor Kippenburg It is a definite showstopper. The Aster ‘Professor Kippenburg’, Aster novae-angliae, has beautiful vivid purple daisy-like flowers that cover the plant. ‘Professor Kippenburg’ looks great in borders and mass plantings. Aster ‘Professor Kippenburg’ does require full sun, but can take some afternoon shade, in a moderate soil range with good drainage that does not become extremely dry during the summer. ‘Professor Kippenburg’, blooming in the early fall till frost, is a definite butterfly and bird attractor. The effect is indescribable.
