Phlox - Purple Flame

‘Purple Flame’ needs to be planted in a full sun area in well-drained soil. The Phlox Purple Flame, 'Phlox paniculata', is an ideal ground cover with masses of tiny dark purple flowers with a white center and a thick mat of foliage. Use ‘Purple Flame’ in rock gardens, as a spread over curbs and short retaining walls, or in difficult edges of dry streambeds. It is a definite addition to any perennial garden. ‘Purple Flame’ is a new variety with variegated foliage and a pinkish tinge near the tips or the leaves. Coreopsis - Zagreb The Coreopsis ‘Zagreb’, Coreopsis verticillata, is a prolific bloomer of bright yellow flowers that bloom from June through October. Winner of the 2001 RHS Award of Garden Merit, Coreopsis ‘Zagreb’ is a little shorter than the rest of the Coreopsis family. With a plant height of 15” and a spread of 12-18”, its delicate dark green foliage has an airy and delicate appearance. ‘Zagreb’ should be planted in full sun. It is drought-tolerant and tough but does need well-drained soil. It is very effective in naturalized areas, rock and cottage gardens or wild gardens. No garden should be without it.
