Phlox - Red Riding Hood

Use Red Riding Hood in rock gardens, as a border or in a cut flower garden. Red Riding Hood needs to be planted in a full sun area in well-drained soil. It is a definite addition to any perennial garden. The Phlox Red Riding Hood, Phlox paniculata 'Red Riding Hood', has beautiful red blossoms on compact dark green stems and is a major attractant of butterflies and hummingbirds. Aster - Professor Kippenburg The Aster ‘Professor Kippenburg’, Aster novae-angliae, has beautiful vivid purple daisy-like flowers that cover the plant. The flowers are 1-2” wide with a plant width of 12-18” and a height of 18-20”. ‘Professor Kippenburg’, blooming in the early fall till frost, is a definite butterfly and bird attractor. The effect is indescribable. Aster ‘Professor Kippenburg’ does require full sun, but can take some afternoon shade, in a moderate soil range with good drainage that does not become extremely dry during the summer.
