Potentilla - Dakota Goldrush®
It requires little, if no care once established. Dakota Goldrush® Potentilla, Potentilla fruticosa 'Absaraka', is a hardy selection with deep yellow flowers and dark green foliage. The flowers are profuse, yellow-gold and 1 to 1 ˝ inches across. Dakota Goldrush® continues to flower until killing frosts occur. This cultivar is similar to the cultivar ‘Jackmanii’, but is more dwarf and flowers more profusely at the end of the season. You can plant it with the assurance that it will live. Potentilla is a deciduous shrub that does best in full sun and will flower all summer if trimmed in late June or July. This compact shrub will mature at 2 to 4 feet tall with a spread of 4 feet. It is compact and free flowering. It can be used as a foundation plant, in the perennial border, in mass planting, as a low hedge and even as a specimen. Weigela - Red Prefers well-drained soil. It is a full sized plant with good hardiness. The Red Weigela, Weigela Vaniceki, is a deciduous shrub with dark red flowers. Foliage is deep, purple-tinted green and forms a compact mound, reaching 6' when mature. Prune older branches after they finish blooming. It grows best in full sun to partial sun. |
