Sea Thrift - Splendins
It is best planted in sandy soils in full sun. With a plant height of 6" and a spread of 10", its grass like foliage stays evergreen throughout the season. Armeria is salt tolerant and are often grown along the coast line. The Splendins 'Sea Thrift', Armeria maritima, has wonderful pink flowers that contrast well with its dark evergreen, tufted foliage. Fox Glove - Strawberry (Foxglove) The Foxglove Strawberry, 'Digitalis ‘Strawberry’, is a showy and compact perennial that produces an array of wonderful crushed strawberry-red blooms. The foliage has a velvet and fuzzy texture that contrasts well with the flower colors. Digitalis should be planted in full sun but will tolerate morning shade. It blooms early to mid summer, July to August. Being a major attraction to bees, butterflies and birds, it is a must in any garden. Try planting it in woodland gardens, as a border plant or cut-flowers. Remember to leave some dead flower stalks to self sow for future flowers.
