Sedum - Vera Jameson

The Sedum ‘Vera Jameson’, also known as Stonecrop, is a wonderful ground cover with bold color for the fall season. ‘Vera Jameson’ has a height of 6-8” and a spread of 12”. The new growth shows blue-green leaves that turn into deep mahogany red in the fall that can’t be missed. ‘Vera Jameson’ is a great choice for beds and borders and excellent as cut flowers. Sedum ‘Vera Jameson’ needs to be planted in full sun in well-drained soil. It will tolerate most soil types and is drought resistant. It is also a great butterfly and bee attractor and is disease resistant. Plant with asters or coneflowers for a wonderful autumn display. Hollyhock - Nigra (The darkest flower in this family). The large blooms of 'Chater's Nigra Hollyhock' flower in the summer months. The Nigra Hollyhock, 'Alcea rosea', has large single, very dark maroon to almost black flowers. Although they are short lived, they reseed themselves. They are best planted in full sun in a well-drained area. The Hollyhock family is made up of a rather large group that exhibits tall stature (4-6') and is biennial in nature. Alcea is a wonderful plant near the back of the border, working great along walls or fences.
