Snow Drift' Crabapple is a splendid tree and little pruning is required to develop a well-formed, rounded canopy. The Snow Drift crabapple is a very profuse bloomer. There appears to be little variation in shape among trees of this cultivar, a characteristic which is coveted by landscape architects. It has small to medium sized white flowers that attracts a lot of bees. Fall color is good, providing a dull yellow glow for two or three weeks. Castleton Dual purpose -- a fine early dessert plum, but also an excellent processing variety. The prunes are early and are a high quality blue plum, ripening a month before Empress. This prune tree is very productive and is relatively small. The Castleton prune fruit is of medium size that rarely split. It is one of the best eating prune available. |
