Snowball Bush - Common
In the fall, the leaves turn a wonderful burgundy reddish-purple. Have a snowball fight in June! Kids and adults alike love this rounded plant with masses of flowers. About the same time, the bright red, attractive berries ripen, and persist on the plant throughout the winter. Birds, particularly Cedar Waxwings, are very fond of the berries, and can often be found snacking during the winter. It is a deciduous thicket-forming Old World shrub. Willow - Japanese The Japanese Willow, 'Salix Integra Flamingo', produces beautiful pink foliage all season long. The outer leaves turn a bright pink while the inner leaves are green and white. The Japanese Willow has 4 season interest. Regular pruning will promote a denser and bushier plant. Then you see the pink summer foliage and in the fall and winter the striking red stems. You may prune the plant back for another flush of pink foliage later in the season. |
