The Texas Bluebonnet has multiple 1/2 inch blue flowers on spokes and a white terminal tip. Texas Bluebonnets are used for cut flowers and for planting in mass in wildflower areas. Texas Bluebonnets are a great annual for naturalized wildflower areas. The blooms last for about 4 weeks in the spring. The Texas Bluebonnet can be planted anywhere, but it does best in climates where it can be planted in the fall and overwinter to produce spring flowers and planted in well drained soils that are sandy or loamy. Cabbage - Discovery Discovery Cabbage prefers rich, moist, well drained soil with lots of organic matter. These compact 7 to 8 inch round heads will fit in any nook or cranny your garden might offer. They are much better than the grocery store cabbage. Discovery is an early to mid-sason variety. Harvest the heads after they firm up and are solid when squeezed. In warm climates, plant in the fall for winter harvest. Discovery is easy to grow and is a great container variety. The Cabbage Discovery, 'Brassica oleracea (Hybrid)', is so tasty and so sweet that Discovery is the only cabbage a national food chain will use. Plant in the spring, 3 to 4 weeks before the last frost for summer harvest.
